PORTLAND, Ore. – Ahmed Sado set the program record in the 1,000-meter while several other Pilots set personal records and all-time best races at the Portland Indoor 1 on Sunday.
Sado posted a time of 2:27.57 on the day, which six-tenths of a second faster than the previous record set by Cobie Chavez-Killinger back in 2016. It's the second program record to fall this year on the men's side during the indoor season. In the same race, Kevin Andrews posted the fifth best time in program history at 2:33.01.
Sully Nordheim also put up an all-time performance in the 600-meter dash. Nordheim posted a time of 1:22.14, best in the men's race and just five-one-hundredths of a second faster than his PR he set two years ago. Steven Durr also posted a PR in the indoor mile with a time of 4:33.89 and the men's team took first in the 4x400-meter relay.
On the women's side, four PR's were set, including the second-best time in program history in the 300-meter dash. Ella Parker took first in the event and ran the race in 42.57 seconds, just 0.37 seconds off the school record. Along with that, Tait Rowley and Katie Newton set personal records in the indoor mile with times of 5:11.95 and 5:16.53, with Rowley finishing second overall on the day.
Teresa Perez took first in the 600-meter run while finishing with the third-best time in program history at 1:36.00. The women's 4x400 relay team also finished with a time of 4:09.85, the fastest on the day. Brionna Holso took first in the 1000-meter race with a time of 2:58.54 as well.
