PORTLAND, Ore. – Vukasin Masic scored 22 points and Juanse Gorosito added 21, but the Portland men's basketball team fell to the San Francisco Dons 76-64 at home Saturday.
Masic and Gorosito's stellar scoring performances led the Pilots (7-15, 1-6) in the contest. Masic tacked on eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Tyler Robertson also helped out with 12 points, five assists and three steals.
Portland out-rebounded San Francisco 43-38 in Saturday's game, led by 13 boards from Bol Dengdit.
How It Happened
Gorosito gave the Pilots the initial lead with a three-pointer, but the Dons pushed out to a 26-18 lead on an Isaiah Hawthorne three-pointer. San Francisco used a 9-0 run to close the half with a 40-29 lead.
The Dons kept widening their lead after intermission, constructing a 73-59 advantage before Portland went on a 5-0 run, finished off by Robertson's jumper, to shrink the deficit to 73-64 with 1:29 to go in the contest. San Francisco responded and outscored the Pilots the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 76-64. Portland shot well from three-point range in the half, hitting eight shots from deep to score 24 of its 35 points.
