PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Portland Pilots trounced the Corban Warriors 108-41, with five Pilots scoring in double figures.
Portland (2-0) was led by Alexis Mark, who had 17 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Emme Shearer added 16 points and two steals and Maisie Burnham helped out with 13 points and two steals.
Portland's 108 points are the most they've scored in a single game since 1985. It's the first time they've crossed the triple-digit threshold since 2021. Every player scored on the night for Portland, and 68 of Portland's points came in the paint.
The Pilots swarmed the Warriors defensively, forcing 36 turnovers with 30 steals, the most steals they've had in a single game since 2020. Every single Pilot recorded a steal on the night.
How It Happened
After jumping out to an 11-4 advantage, Portland went on a 19-0 to end the first quarter with a 30-4 lead. Portland did most of its first quarter damage in the paint, scoring 18 of their 30 points close to the basket.
The Warriors battled back in the second half but couldn't make a dent in the lead, with Portland up 51-23. Portland dominated in the paint once again, scoring 20 of its 21 points at the basket.
Portland wasted no time building on its lead, going on a 15-0 run to start the quarter, punctuated by a basket from Shearer, to expand its lead further to 66-23 with 6:48 to go in the third. The Pilots added 10 points to their lead before the period ended, holding a 83-30 edge.
The Pilots would soon break the 100-point threshold, cruising to a 108-41 win.
