SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- Maisie Burnham was named the WCC Player of the Week on Monday, marking the second week in a row that a Pilot has earned the honor.
Burnham garnered recognition after a stellar weekend that saw her average 21.5 points, five rebounds and four assists across two games. Against the UTEP Miners on Sunday, Burnham posted a season-high 25 points, the second highest point total for a Pilot this year. Burnham has scored at least 20 points in four different games this season, making her the first Pilot to hit that mark that many times since Alex Fowler in the 2022-23 season.
Burnham has been one of the top players in the conference this year. She's averaging 17.4 points per game along with 5.3 rebounds on 52.3% shooting. Burnham leads the conference in free throws made (47) and ranks second in total points (174) and third in points per game. She is currently 22nd in career free throws made among all Division I players.
The Pilots currently sit at 10-0, their best start in program history. They are one of just 10 teams that are still undefeated and one of just three undefeated teams with at least 10 wins. They are the only undefeated team in the nation to have won every game by double digits.
The Bridgetown Rivalry is back, with the Pilots hosting the Portland State Vikings on Friday, Dec. 13. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. Check PortlandPilots.com for live stats and video options.
