SPOKANE, Wash. — Portland dropped a 96-64 road game to the Gonzaga Bulldogs Wednesday night in men's basketball action at the McCarthey Athletic Center.
The Pilots (9-16, 3-7) had four players score in double figures, led by Juanse Gorosito, who had 13 points. Vukasin Masic tacked on 12 points and five assists, Bol Dengdit helped out with 12 points and eight rebounds and Yuto Yamanouchi-Williams added 11 points and five rebounds.
Gonzaga shot an efficient 56 percent from the field and made 15-of-33 three-pointers to pull away.
How It Happened
Gonzaga came out firing with three-pointers on the opening three possessions and racing to a 19-1 lead to start the game. The Bulldogs closed the half on a 9-0 run to take a 50-23 lead into the break. Portland shot just 9-of-34 from the field in the first period, while Gonzaga shot 58 percent overall including 9-of-17 from three-point range.
The Pilots got the offense going in the second half and used a 9-0 run, finished off by Dengdit's three, to shrink the deficit to 57-39 with 14:28 to go in the contest. Gonzaga responded and extended the margin down the stretch.

» Portland found success from beyond the arc, knocking down nine treys in the game.
» Juanse Gorosito led the Pilots with 13 points and buried at least three triples in his fourth straight game.
» Dengdit, the reigning WCC Freshman of the Week, is averaging 11.3 points and 8.7 rebounds the last three games.
» Braden Huff scored a game-high 25 points and Anton Watson added 20 for the Bulldogs.
