BOSTON, Mass – Matt Strangio placed 16th in the 3,000-meter run Saturday at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 8:24.07 to conclude a record-breaking season for the senior.
Strangio owns the Portland indoor records in the mile (3:55.53), 3,000-meter (7:39.02) and 5,000-meter (13:31.92) events.
With Strangio and Laura Pellicoro's qualification for this year's championships, Portland has now had 15 NCAA Indoor qualifiers dating back to 1995 season.
The duo will now prepare the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field season.
