FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Portland junior Jona Bodirsky ran a time of 30:14.79 to finish in 33rd place of the 10,000-meter semifinals of the NCAA Division I Track and Field West First Round Wednesday at John McDonnell Field. Complete results from Wednesday's events can be found

Bodirsky is the first of six Pilot qualifiers that will compete at the NCAA Regional this week. Courtney Klatt will be the lone Pilot from the women's team and she will run in the 10K Thursday at 6:10 p.m.
On the men's side, Portland will have two representatives in Friday's 3,000-meter Steeplechase in Estanis Ruiz (8:41.26, No. 14) and Thomas Chaston (8:48.24, No. 30). That race is scheduled for 3:40 p.m. Matt Strangio and Bradley Peloquin will then compete in the 5,000-meter run Friday at 6:10 p.m. Strangio posted a school record time of 13:41.64, which is No. 19 in the region. Peloquin's time of 13:50.27 put him at No. 46 among the declared competition.
The top 48 declared student-athletes from each event qualify for the East and West First Rounds. The qualifiers out of these two regions will compete in the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 5-8 in Eugene, Ore.
