VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Laura Pellicoro and Matt Strangio will compete this weekend at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships scheduled for March 14-15 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va. The event will be covered live on ESPN+.

Pellicoro is set to compete first in Friday's Indoor Mile Prelims at 12:30 p.m. (PT), entering with the No. 4 qualifying time of 4:25.60. The top four finishers from each heat, along with the next two fastest times, will advance to Saturday's final at 12 p.m. A three-time NCAA Indoor Mile qualifier, Pellicoro previously placed 7th in the 2022 prelims and 6th in the 2024 prelims.
Strangio will represent the Pilots in the men's 3,000-meter run on Saturday at 4Â p.m., qualifying with the No. 13 time. This marks his second NCAA Indoor 3,000m appearance, following a 16th-place finish in his previous showing.

Both runners shattered the school records in their respective events. Pellicoro's mile time of 4:25.60 at the 2025 UW Invitational broke her own record by six seconds, set a season ago. Pellicoro also owns the school records in three other races this season, including the 800-meter run (2:00.92), the 100-meter (2:37.04) and previous school records in the 600-meter (1:31.56) and the 3,000-meter (9:00.46).
Strangio recorded a time of 7:40.09 at the Husky Classic's 3,000m event to post No. 15 fastest time in the nation this year. Strangio owns the Portland indoor records in the mile (3:55.53), 3,000-meter (7:39.02) and 5,000-meter (13:31.92).
Portland now has 17 all-time NCAA Indoor Qualifiers and eight NCAA Indoor All-Americans.
