SAN BRUNO, Calif. – For the fourth straight week, the No. 2 Portland Pilots had a player earn West Coast Conference Player of the Week honors, with Nikos Clarke-Tosczak earning defensive player of the week.
Clarke-Tosczak earned the award after helping the Pilot defense post their seventh shutout in eight games in a 3-0 win over the Gonzaga Bulldogs, marking the first time in program history the Pilots have done so. Clarke-Tosczak, who's started every match for the Pilots this season, had an assist on the game-winning goal as well, his second of the year.
The Pilots are one of the hottest teams in the country, sitting at 7-0-1 overall and 1-0-0 in conference play. They currently hold an 18-game unbeaten streak that dates back to last season, which is the second longest in the nation and the longest for the Pilots since the 1988 season. Their 7-0-1 record marks the first time since 2022 the Pilots are unbeaten in their first eight.
Portland is back in action tomorrow, Sept. 30 for a showdown against the FIU Panthers. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Check PortlandPilots.com for tickets, live stats and video options.
