PORTLAND, Ore. – Nikos Clarke-Tosczak continues to take home honors after making the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week for Sept. 30. He is the first Pilot to make the team this year.
Clarke-Tosczak, who earned WCC Defensive Player of the Week honors on Monday, posted an assist and played 84 minutes at fullback for the Pilots in their 3-0 win over the Gonzaga Bulldogs last Saturday. His assist came on what proved to be the game-winning goal for the Pilots. Clarke-Tosczak has now started in all seven of Portland's shutouts this year, with the seven total clean sheets being the most in program history through the first eight games.
Portland has been stellar to open the season, rising to second in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll. The Pilots are 7-0-1 to start the year and 1-0-0 in WCC play, marking the second time the Pilots have started undefeated since 2022. Their overall record through eight games is their best since 1988. They currently hold an 18-game unbeaten streak that is the second longest in the nation behind just the defending national champions in Vermont, and Portland's longest streak since the 1988 season.
The Pilots play tonight against the FIU Panthers at 7 p.m. Check PortlandPilots.com for tickets, live stats and video options.
