Portland Head Coach Nick Carlin-Voigt Postgame
"First of all, Kansas City is a very good team who's had a good run of games. They will win a lot of games. There's a reason they were unbeaten this year, a Sweet 16 team last fall and conference tourney champs in the Summit. So proud of our guys, who I thought deserved the win tonight. There were ebbs and flows in the game, and we made a big save when it was needed from a restart. Was a total program win as we got critical minutes off the bench in all our lines. We grew as the game went on and created enough dangerous moments to score a second goal. Second half we created enough chances and unfortunately did not earn a second. After we got reduced to 10 players the group dug down and did enough to close the game out and secure another clean sheet."
