SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Portland women's tennis fell to powerhouse TCU Saturday in a neutral site match by a 4-0 margin. The teams decided to play singles first and the doubles matches were not played.
The Horned Frogs won the four finalized matches in straight sets at the No. 2, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 positions.
Alaia Rubio Perez was locked in a battle at the top of the lineup with Victoria Gomez leading 4-3 in the second set after dropping the first set by a 7-5 margin. Nadine Arbaizar Martinez was tied 4-4 in the second after losing the opening set 6-4 to Jennifer Jackson at the No. 3 position.
The Pilots will remain in Southern California for their third match in three days on Sunday at UC Riverside with a noon start.
