SEATTLE, Wash. – The Portland Pilots battled in their regular season opener against the No. 12 Washington Huskies, but ultimately fell 1-0. The Pilots drop to 0-1-0 to start the season.
The Pilots allowed three shots on goal and just one goal, with Sophia Hills recording two saves on the day. Portland put a shot on goal in the first half courtesy of Rose Calkins.
How it Happened
Portland did not allow a shot on goal in the first half, holding strong against the Husky attack. Portland had the first shot on target of the game, with Rose Calkins taking the shot. The back line held strong and kept Washington scoreless in the first 45.
The second half began with a goal from Washington one minute in. Portland made some dangerous attacks but had no luck finding a goal, falling 1-0.
