The Pilot Cup was an initiative brought forth by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in 2014 with the hope of promoting team engagement in the department, on campus, and in the community. Each year one team will be rewarded for their efforts from September-April and recognized at the Wally’s Student-Athlete Awards Banquet.
CATEGORIES
Academic Achievement:
- Conference or national academic awards (i.e WCC All Academic, Academic All American, WCC/NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship etc.).
- The male and female team with the highest term GPA at the end of Fall and Spring semester
- Students recognized at the Student-Athlete Academic Awards Banquet for any of the Top 6 awards will earn points.

Athletic Achievement:
- Conference or national athletic award (i.e WCC Freshman Team, All American, All WCC First Team).
- Teams that place top three in conference standings
- Competing at nationals
- Finishing in the top three of the country
*Spring sports (baseball, beach, rowing, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s track & field) will be awarded points for their performances in the previous spring.

Department Engagement:
- Point will be awarded for attending other team’s athletic competitions
- SAAC team representatives will earn points each semester for attendance at meetings and events.
- Pilot Pals: 30 team points for each team when they participate in a joint activity (i.e. bowling, dinner, laser tag). 15 team points when teams support their Pal team at a home competition (i.e. attendance at game, signs, travel goodie bags).
- Other initiatives: Throughout the year there will be additional events or promotions that will earn individual and team points.

Community Service:
- Points will be awarded per hour of community service completed by individuals or teams.
