For mental health emergencies outlined below, contact the following resources. After immediate contacts have been reached, please follow up with your athletic trainer who will be able to contact additional personnel, as appropriate.
Suicidal and/or homicidal ideation: Active suicidal ideation involves an existing wish to die accompanied by a plan for how to carry out the death. Passive suicidal ideation involves a desire to die, but without a specific plan for carrying out the death. When in doubt, treat as active ideation.
Active: Contact P-Safe emergency line (503-943-4444) if on/near campus or 911 if 1+ mile off campus. If you suspect weapons are involved, call 911 immediately and follow up with P-Safe emergency line.
Passive: Contact Health Center (503-943-7134), if out of business hours contact emergency contact after-hours Mental Health Emergency (503-943-7134, press 3).
Sexual Assault
Immediate danger: Contact P-Safe emergency line (503-943-4444) or 911 if 1+ mile off campus. Must inform Title IX within 24 hours.
Non-immediate danger: Contact P-Safe business line (503-943-7161) if on/near campus. Refer to Health Center (503-943-7134). Must inform Title IX within 24 hours.
Highly agitated or threatening behavior, acute psychosis or paranoia
Contact P-Safe emergency line (503-943-4444) if on/near campus or 911 if 1+ mile off campus. If you suspect weapons are involved, call 911 immediately and follow up with P-Safe emergency line.
Acute delirium/confusional state
Contact P-Safe emergency line (503-943-4444) if on/near campus or 911 if 1+ mile off campus
Acute intoxication or drug overdose
Acute incident: Contact P-Safe emergency line (503-943-4444) if on/near campus or 911 if 1+ mile off campus
Substance abuse: Refer to Health Center (503-943-7134).
