Biography

UNIVERSITY OF PORTLAND 2007: Made 32 appearances and 12 starts, primarily in the outfield … hit .360 (9-for-25) with three doubles, two RBI’s and a stolen base in 14 conference games … hit .224 overall and stole two bases in two attempts … posted a 1.000 fielding percentage in 44 chances (42 putouts and two assists) … had two hits at California on Feb. 11 ... knocked in the winning run with a walk-off double in the 10th inning of a 2-1 win over Santa Clara on March 31 ... RBI double in 13-4 win at Saint Mary’s on April 29 … went 2-for-3 with a double and was hit by a pitch against 25th-ranked Pepperdine on May 18.

 

UNIVERSITY OF PORTLAND 2006: Played two games before utilizing medical redshirt season with an injured knee.

 

UNIVERSITY OF PORTLAND 2005: Started 13 games in centerfield and appeared in 24 overall … hit .182 (8-for-44) with seven RBI’s, seven runs, two home runs and a double … went 2-for-3 with four RBI’s, one double and one home run in 6-4 win against Pacific Mar. 13 … one stolen base in one attempt.

 

UNIVERSITY OF PORTLAND 2004: Started in 47 and appeared in 49 games as a freshman … had a career-high three hits against Chicago State Mar. 11 … had two-hit games against Missouri Feb. 14 and San Francisco Mar. 19 … had a six-game hit streak in early April ... hit home run against Nevada in first career game Feb. 12.

 

MERCER ISLAND HS: Three-year letterwinner for coach Doug Williams … All-KingCo 3A All-Star Team … led team in home runs junior and senior seasons … team MVP … led team in batting average junior season … WIAA State Academic Champions.

 

PERSONAL: Born Nov. 28, 1984 in Seattle, Wash. … parents are Steve and Sandy Krause … major is marketing and management … member of the Honda of Bellevue Baseball Club … went 40-16-1 in 2002 … 2002 Champions of the Dwight Church Memorial Day Classic and MidSound Memorial Day Classic … 2003 Champions of Spokane Invitational and Brandy Pugh Summer Classic runner-up … father played baseball and basketball for Edmonds CC in 1970 and 1971, and played baseball for the semi-pro Everett Merchants in 1970 … father also worked for Major League Baseball’s Seattle Mariners from 1978 until 1985.
