CLUB COACHING EXPERIENCE: Has worked with F.C. Portland since 2004, assisting the U-16 girls team to 2005 state finals and then to regional finals. Region IV staff member for U-13 and U-14 girls.
COLLEGE PLAYING EXPERIENCE: Four-year starter for the Pilots as a central defender, helping lead Portland to the 2002 NCAA Championship as a senior. Named to Soccer America’s 11-player MVP team her senior season. First team NSCAA and Soccer Buzz All-America selection as a senior. Was a M.A.C Hermann Trophy nominee and selected to the NCAA College Cup all-tournament team after helping defense give up just one goal in six playoff games en route to the title. WCC Defender of the Year and three-time first team all-WCC performer. Named a Soccer Buzz first team All-American and NSCAA second team pick as a junior.
PROFESSIONAL PLAYING EXPERIENCE: Selected as the ninth overall pick in the 2003 WUSA Draft and started five games while enduring an injury-plagued season with the New York Power.
PERSONAL: Born July 16, 1981 in Newport Beach, Calif., Lauren (formerly Orlandos) married former UP baseball star Travis Hanson in December of 2005. She has done numerous individual training with youths, and coached camps for both the New York Power and at the University of Portland soccer camps.
