Biography
NATIONAL TEAM: Was a member of the U.S. U-20 Women’s National Team during the winter/spring of 2012 … helped the U-20’s win the 2012 CONCACAF Championships in Panama City, Panama, and qualify for the 2012 U-20 FIFA World Cup; scored a goal and registered an assist during a win over host Panama.
OLYMPIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM: Oregon State Team (2008).
2012: Preseason All-WCC … WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention … leg injury limited her to just 10 starts and 12 overall appearances … scored four goals and had one assist for nine points … two of four goals were game-winners … game-winners came against Oregon (Aug. 24) and Seattle (Sept. 21) … assist was also against the Redhawks.
2011: All-WCC First Team … WCC All-Academic First Team … started all 21 games … led team with seven assists, while ranking second with 17 points and third with five goals … her five goals came during conference play were a league-high, while her 13 points against WCC foes tied for the league-best … assisted on both Portland goals during 2-1 win over USC (Sept. 18) … scored a goal and had three assists during win against Saint Mary’s (Oct. 16) … had a stretch of four straight games (Oct. 6-21) with a goal.
2010: All-WCC Freshman Team … All-WCC Honorable Mention … TopDrawerSoccer All-Rookie First Team … started 13 matches and appeared in eight more off the bench … tied for the team high in goals (8), assists (5), and points (21), while leading the team with five game-winners … recorded one goal in six of seven games spanning from Aug. 22 to Sept. 12 … earned National Team and WCC Player of the Week honors on Sept. 13 after notching a goal and assist versus Rutgers on Sept. 10 and then scoring the game-winner against Penn State … had two assists during win over Oregon (Oct. 1) … scored two goals in first career WCC match on Oct. 10 against Gonzaga.
SAM BARLOW HS: Earned four varsity letters for head coach Justan Wolvert … helped lead the Bruins Mt. Hood Conference titles in both 2006 and 2007 … was a First Team All-State selection in 2008 and 2009 and a Second Team All-State pick as a sophomore in 2007 … nabbed consecutive Mt. Hood Conference Player of the Year awards in 2008 and 2009 … landed on the All-Mt. Hood Conference First Team all four years … also named the Bruins Best Offensive Player all four years and was the team MVP in 2008 and 2009 … scored 28 goals during senior campaign … also lettered in track & field in 2006 and 2007.
CLUB TEAM: Played for FC Portland Purple (2008-10) … also played for Sandy Surge (2001-03) and Eastside United Aston Villa (2004-07).
PERSONAL: Born June 28, 1992 in Portland, Ore. … parents are Brian and Olyn Capelle … major is social work … older brother Eric was on the Boise State Track and Field team.
