UNIVERSITY OF PORTLAND 2007-08: All-West Coast Conference for the second straight year … counted all 24 rounds played and had Portland’s lowest scoring average of 79.0 … had three top-10 finishes and five top-20’s … fired a season-low 73 during the first round of the MDA Invitational on Sept. 24 … shot all three rounds in the 70’s at the MDA to finish 12th overall with a 230 … finished first overall with a 79 (41-38) during Portland’s dual match win over Gonzaga on Oct. 28 … finished second individually, one stroke behind the medalist, to help the Pilots win the Elco Inc. Intercollegiate on March 17-18; she fired identical 79’s to finish with a 158 … followed an opening round of 76 with a one-over par 73 to finish third overall at the Matador Spring Invitational (April 7-8) … capped the season with a ninth-place showing at the WCC Championships at Chambers Bay on April 14-15; shot a 239 (78-83-78) at the WCC’s.
UNIVERSITY OF PORTLAND 2006-07: All-West Coast Conference … counted 24 of 25 rounds played … averaged a team-low 79.1 per round, 78.9 during the fall … had a team-high three top-10 finishes and one top2- finish … fired a season-low 72 during the first round of the Bronco Fall Invitational on Oct. 9 … also posted a season-low, 54-hole total of 225 to finish 10th at the Bronco Invitational … tied for ninth individually as Portland took the team title at the Matador Spring Invitational April 9-10 … finished ninth at the WCC Championships (April 16-17) to earn all-conference honors.
UNIVERSITY OF PORTLAND 2005-06: Counted 19.5 out of 25 rounds played … shot an average of 82.14 strokes during fall season … had a 82.60 average for fall/spring combined … had a low round 77 at the Bronco Fall Invitational and at the Santa Clara Colby Invitational as well as a top-20 finish with a tie for 19th … 54-hole best of 244 (80-163-244) at the Bronco Fall Invitational.
SOUTH TORRANCE HS: Earned four letters for coach Kelly Wood ... two-time All-Bay League ... helped STHS make regionals as a freshman and sophomore, as well as qualify for the CIF Championship during her senior campaign ... placed second individually at the Bay League Championships with an 82 and advanced to the regional tournament.
PERSONAL: Born on Oct. 20, 1987 in Torrance, Calif. ... parents are Peggy and Larry Kuida ... major is finance ... father played volleyball at CS Dominguez ... shot a 74 to qualify for the 2004 Junior World Championships played at Torrey Pines Golf Course and also qualified for the 2004 Tournament of Champions … qualified for the 2007 U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship by finishing second at a local qualifying event in Portland, Ore. on May 28 … competed at the 2008 U.S. Amateur at the Eugene Country Club; tied for third at a qualifying event at the Portland Golf Club … finished third at the 2008 Long Beach Women’s Amateur ... On Oct. 23, 2008, Kuida carded her second career hole-in-one during a practice round at Pumpkin Ridge's Witch Hollow Course in North Plains, Ore.; the ace came on the par-three second with an eight iron from 137 yards out (see photo below).
