Connor Murphy was added to the UP women’s rowing staff as an assistant coach during the summer of 2013. Murphy came to Portland from the Everett Rowing Association, where he coached for a year following college.
Murphy rowed at the Everett Rowing Association for four years while in high school and he earned four varsity letters. Murphy led the ERA as a captain and was awarded the Oarsman trophy his senior year after two consecutive trips to the US Rowing Youth National Championships in 2007 and 2008.
He continued to row competitively at Gonzaga where he stroked the freshman eight and finished second at WIRA's and 15th at the IRA National Championship.
Murphy then began his coaching career at the Everett Rowing Association as the Middle School Team coach. In 2012-13 he coached the novice men to silver medals at the Brentwood and US Rowing NW Youth District Championships.
