Portland men’s soccer alum Miguel Guante joined the women’s staff as an assistant coach during the summer of 2017. Guante, who starred for the men’s side from 2002-05, has coached at FC Portland since 2003, and he spent the previous five years as the head coach for the Lincoln High School girls varsity team.
Guante played both in the midfield and at right back for the Pilots, earning All-West Coast Conference Second Team honors all four years. He helped lead the Pilots to the Second Round of the NCAA Playoffs three times, and he tallied six career goals and six career assists.
Following graduation, Guante spent time professionally playing for FC Dallas, Miami FC and the Portland Timbers.
As ECNL Assistant Director and coach at FC Portland, Guante has played an integral role for one of the nation’s top clubs for more than a decade. Guante has coached numerous teams and helped guide several players to NCAA DI programs and to U.S. Youth National Team Camps. Guante has been at the helm of the Lincoln girls program since 2013 after previous stints at Valley Catholic High School and Central Catholic High School.
