UNIVERSITY OF PORTLAND: Hired as an assistant coach in June, 2002. McIntosh enters her fourth season on the combined staff, sharing recruiting and player development responsibilities. Pilot teams have never missed an NCAA tournament throughout McIntosh’s coaching tenure while posting a combined record of 92-39-11 (.687).
COLLEGE/CLUB COACHING EXPERIENCE: Served as an assistant coach at San Jose State University in 2001, helping the Spartans to their first WAC Championship and first NCAA Playoff berth for the school. Coached for the Colorado Rush Soccer Club in Colorado, as well as Emerald City FC in Seattle. McIntosh currently holds a United States Soccer Federation “B” coaching license.
NATIONAL TEAM PLAYING EXPERIENCE: Was a member of the U-20 National Team pool, 1993-95 .. U-18 National Team, 1992 … U-17 National Team, 1991 ... U-16 National Team, 1990 … West Regional Team, U-16 and U-19 (four years).
COLLEGE PLAYING EXPERIENCE: Helped lead the Pilots to four-straight NCAA Tournaments from 1994-97, including three consecutive semifinal appearances and a trip to the 1995 championship game. Finished her career as Portland’s fifth all-time leading scorer with 96 points (42G/12A) and the school’s No. 3 goal-scorer. Named a Soccer News honorable mention All-American her senior season and earned two all-West Coast Conference awards. Selected to the NCAA all-tournament team in 1995 and was an all-Far West Region second team pick the same year. Finished second in the WCC, third in the Far West Region and 15th nationally in scoring with 46 points (21G/4A) in 1995. Ranked eighth nationally with six game-winning goals in 1995. Portland’s second-leading scorer with 22 points in 1997. Earned a spot in the 1997 Umbro Select All-Star Classic match.
CLUB/PROFESSIONAL PLAYING EXPERIENCE: Signed by the New York Power as a free agent in March of 2002 and promptly earned a starting spot as a defender, before being traded to the San Diego Spirit in September of 2002. Played the 2003 season with the W-League Seattle Sounders. Played the 2001 season for the California Storm of the WPSL. Served as a player-coach for the W-League Denver Diamonds in 1999 and 2000. Spent the 1998 season playing professionally in Germany.
PERSONAL: Born Oct. 17, 1975 in Billings, Mont., McIntosh currently resides in Portland with husband James Tanner, as well as pet dogs Daisy, Copa and Roscoe. The couple is expecting their first child in 2005.
