Warren comes to Portland with coaching experience, having spent the last five years at Westview High School where he was the head sprint coach and an assistant with jumping events. With the Wildcats he coached individual champions in the girl's 100m, 200m, and long jump at the 2019 6A State Championship. Warren was also at the helm of the boys 4x100 team which went undefeated and collected the state title in 2016.

This past summer, Warren coached athletes at the 2019 USATF Junior Olympics National Championship Meet.

At the University of Oregon, Warren was a two-sport standout. He competed on the esteemed track and field team from 2008-11 as both a jumper and sprinter. In his time as a Duck, he was a two-time NCAA Championships qualifier in the long jump, with a best finish of 11th place. He was also a key member of the 4x100 meter relay team for three years. Pac-12 best finishes include 2nd place in the long jump and 4th place in the high jump.

In 2012, Warren used his last remaining year of eligibility at Oregon to play on the baseball team. During that season, he played in 38 games and made nine starts while maintaining a .343 batting average.

At Grant High School, Warren was the 2007 state champion in the high jump, while also playing baseball in the same season. He was drafted out of high school by the Atlanta Braves in the 36th round in 2007, but elected to attend the University of Oregon instead.
