Jason Kesner joined the University of Portland Athletic Department staff as the Compliance and Student Services Coordinator in July 2016. He acts as the Athletic Department liaison for Bon Appetite and Residence Life, and is responsible for monitoring recruiting and countable athletic related activity.Â
Prior to UP, Jason served over two years as the Assistant Compliance Coordinator at the University of Delaware. He served as the liaison between the Athletic Department and the UD Admissions Office, and was responsible for overseeing recruiting and initial eligibility for prospective student-athletes.
While a graduate student at the University of Louisville, Jason interned in the Compliance Office. He assisted in monitoring recruiting, evaluated prospect transcripts, and designed educational videos for boosters. He first started in athletic compliance as a Compliance intern at Stony Brook University in 2012.
In addition to his experience in compliance, Jason previously served as a Cardinal Athletic Fund intern at the University of Louisville where he assisted in the coordination of donor events, and made solicitation to prospective donors. He also served as a Sports Information intern at Capital University in 2011, a Game Operations intern with the Columbus Clippers minor league baseball team in 2011, and was a Fan Experience and Promotions intern at The Ohio State University Athletic Department. Â
Originally from New York, Jason earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from The Ohio State University in June, 2012 and received his Master's Degree in Sport Administration from the University of Louisville in December, 2013.
Jason and his wife, Stacey, reside in Northeast Portland.
