Pilot junior Curtis Spiteri was named West Coast Conference men's soccer Player of the Week, his first such honor and the first keeper to win the weekly award since October of 1999, when Matt Hall of San Diego won the award.
Spiteri is riding a four-match shutout string, including a 120-minute shutout of then-#17 Loyola Marymount, followed by a 1-0 shutout of then-#14 San Diego. Spiteri hasn’t allowed a goal in 457:59 since giving up a 35-yard goal at 32:01 to Gonzaga.
Portland has taken three WCC P.O.W. awards this season - two earlier by Nate Jaqua.
