PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland senior center Rachel Warren was named the West Coast Conference women's basketball player of the week after notching two straight double-doubles as the Pilots picked up a pair of road wins. Warren averaged 13 points and 12.5 rebounds in wins over Pacific and Sacramento State.
On Sunday, Warren scored 16 points and secured a season-high 13 rebounds during a 74-61 win over Sacramento State in Sacramento, Calif. She also handed out three assists and blocked two shots against the Hornets. During an 84-64 win against Pacific in Stockton, Calif., on Friday, the native of Brisbane, Australia, scored 10 points with 12 rebounds.
Warren also hit all eight free throws during the weekend and now has three double-doubles on the season.
Portland is 10-5 on the year, equaling its win total from last season. The Pilots next open play in the WCC with a game at the Chiles Center against the LMU Lions on Jan. 10.
