JAQUA, HAGLER TOP 2000 MEN'S
SOCCER RECRUITING
PORTLAND, Ore. -- University of Portland director of soccer, Clive Charles, announced the addition of seven players to the 2000 Pilot men's soccer roster.
The list of newcomers is topped by two-time Oregon 4A Player of the Year, Nate Jaqua of South Eugene High School, and three-time Oregon 4A first-teamer, Cody Hagler of Canby High School.
"In Nate Jaqua and Cody Hagler, we got two of the best strikers in the country coming to the University of Portland," Charles said of his star recruits. "They'll be pushing Conor Casey and Kelly Gray, our two national team forwards, for playing time next fall."
The remaining five recruits include twin defenders, John and Ryan Domingo (San Jose, CA), forward Jarrod Weis (Hillsboro, OR), and defenders Max Leinbach (Eugene, OR), and Kyle Tanner (Modesto, CA).
"This class is the biggest local class we've had at Portland in a long time," noted Charles. "That says a lot for youth soccer in the state of Oregon."
"The Domingo boys and Leinbach are Region IV pool defenders, and Weis and Leinbach are talented players who will enhance our program."
