STOCKTON, Calif. – Junior Stephanie Doolittle led the Portland Pilots women’s tennis team with two straight singles wins at the No. 4 spot as they faced non-conference opponents UC Davis and Pacific on the road.
Portland (4-11, 0-4 WCC) fell short in their attempt to snap UC Davis’s six-match win streak, losing to the Aggies (9-7) by a score of 4-1. UC Davis is a perfect 8-0 at home.
The Pilots then battled hard at Pacific (6-10) but lost by a 5-2 margin.
Senior Megan Sporndli posted a victory against Pacific’s Christina Goehl at the No. 2 singles spot in three sets. Doolittle accounted for Portland’s second point with her win at the No. 4 position.
The Pilots are back in action on Friday, April 9th when they host their final home match against non-conference opponent Weber State. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m. at the Louisiana-Pacific Tennis Center.
