PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland junior forward Amanda Frisbie is the U.S. Bank University of Portland Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after netting a pair of goals at Saint Mary’s on Sunday. The McKinney, Texas, native was named the inaugural U.S. Bank Student-Athlete of the Week back on Sept. 17.
On Sunday, Frisbie had her third multi-goal game of the season as the Pilots capped a 2-0 road trip with a 3-0 shutout at Saint Mary’s. Her first goal came on a world class strike 30 seconds into the match. In the second minute Frisbie gained possession near the right sideline, took a couple of touches towards the middle of the field and unleashed a perfectly-placed shot from 30 yards out that dropped inside the top left corner of the frame.
Frisbie then gave Portland a 2-nil lead when she found the back of the net in the 18th minute. Sarah Bridges sent a ball forward from the back, Emily Sippel flicked it on and Frisbie finished from 10 yards out for her team-best ninth goal of the season.
