Yorks Runs Away with Half Time Mile

PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland freshman Izaic Yorks ran away with the top time at Portland’s famous Half Time Mile Thursday night at the Chiles Center, finishing three full seconds ahead of LMU's Weston Strum.
In its third year since returning to Portland tradition, Yorks crossed the finish line in a blazing 4:12.74, well ahead of Strum's 4:15.79 and fellow Pilot freshman Alex Dillard (4:15.86).
Portland’s Danny Martinez was among those in the lead pack as well, finishing less than one behind Strum and Dillard with a time of 4:16.43. Martinez placed ninth last week in the USA XC National Championships with a time of 25:02.7 in the 8k race (5:02 pace).
