PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Gonzaga Bulldogs led by just 11 points at the break but would pull away in the second half to claim a 56-24 win over the Portland Pilots in a West Coast Conference women's basketball game played on Friday night at the Chiles Center. The loss drops Portland's record to 8-6 (1-2 WCC), while Gonzaga improves to 12-3 (2-1 WCC).

Both teams struggled from the field in the first half as the Pilots were able to hold the Gonzaga offense mostly in check as well. The Bulldogs led only 26-15 after the first 20 minutes, but the second half was a different story as the Pilots scored just nine points after the break and connected on three field goals, allowing the Bulldogs to pull away.
GU's Haiden Palmer led all scorers with 13 points, while Sunny Greinacher added 10.
Alexis Byrd and Jasmine Wooton were Portland's leading scorers with eight points each.
The Pilots finished eight of 46 (.174) from the field, didn't hit a three-pointer in 12 tries and went 8-for-16 at the free throw line. Gonzaga was 24-for-64 (.375) on the night, went 4-for-24 from behind the three-point arc and was 4-for-8 on free throws.
The Bulldogs also out-rebounded the Pilots 50-33.
The Pilots will next look to rebound when they host San Diego on Wednesday night at the Chiles Center. Tip-off between the Pilots and Toreros is set for 7 p.m.
