Hey everyone!
These past couple weeks have been filled with lots of travel, training, and runs. Here's a little story from my last run:
Last Friday, Lem (Lauren Marin) and I decided to go on a long run together and unfortunately, it was cut short by a disastrous event. As Lem and I ran down Portsmouth enjoying the fresh air, she abruptly shouted and began hopping frantically on one leg. At first, I feared she had somehow injured herself running on the uneven sidewalks. But when I looked down to see what had happened this is what I saw --
After examining the bottom of her shoes and finding it to be clean of the disgusting debris, we theorized that somebody must have thrown it at her. Lem and I are still currently investigating the incident so we can find out the truth. Please feel free to call or email me with any information regarding what exactly happened or is on Lem's leg.
For the rest of this week's blog, I decided it was time to put a well-deserved spotlight on Gergs, our fantastic athletic trainer.
Gergs (rhymes with Bergs, as in Ice Berg)
Gergs is greatly appreciated by everyone, not only because of how well he does his job, but also because it's hard not to love his personality. Gergs has been a certified athletic trainer since 2004. His favorite aspect of his job is that he gets to help people and assist them from being injured—to being successful on the field. He often gives me inspirational speeches and laughs at most of my jokes.
These words cannot describe just how amazing Gergs is, and since a picture is worth a thousand words, here's a look at his life in photos.
There you have it folks, the life of Gergs. In all seriousness, we really appreciate all he does for our team.
Moving forward, this weekend we begin conference with two home games against Pepperdine (9/30) and LMU (10/2). Can't wait to see you all out there!
