MORAGA, Calif. – The Saint Mary's Gaels posted a 4-0 win against the Portland Pilots in West Coast Conference women's tennis action on Friday at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex. The Gaels improve to 11-7 overall and 5-2 in WCC play, while the Pilots drop to 4-14 and 0-7 in league.

Saint Mary's took the doubles point as its No. 43-ranked top duo won 6-0. The other two matches were competitive, but the Gaels held on for a 6-4 win at No. 3 to secure the initial point. Clementine Clement and Aubane Ville outlasted Pilot freshmen Lourdes Ramalle and Laura Okazaki. No. 2 doubles was tied 5-5 when the point was clinched.

The Gales jumped out quickly in singles play and won the first set in all six matches. Saint Mary's won in straight sets at the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 positions to clinch the overall team win.

Portland junior Radina Dimitrova was in a tough battle at No. 2 singles falling 6-4 in the first and trailing 3-2 in the second set to Hind Abdelouahid when play was concluded.

The Pilots will continue their weekend road trip with a Saturday morning match against Pacific set for 11 a.m. at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.
