PORTLAND, Ore. – The No. 8 Pepperdine Waves posted a 4-0 win over the Portland Pilots in a West Coast Conference women's tennis match on Saturday at the Louisiana Pacific Tennis Center. The Waves improve to 16-1 overall and 5-0 in league play, while the Pilots fall to 4-13 and 0-6 in conference.

Pepperdine features five nationally-ranked singles players and two doubles teams in this week's ITA rankings.

The Waves started strong in doubles as the No. 17-ranked duo of Luisa Stefani and Mayar Sherif Ahmed posted a 6-1 win at the No. 1 position against Anna Oberg and Jelena Lukic. Ashley Lahey and Lekaj then clinched wit h a 6-0 sweep at No. 3 doubles.

Lukic fought hard at No. 1 singles against No. 25 Luisa Stefani. She took a 5-2 lead in the first set, but fell in a tiebreaker 7-5. Lukic won the second set 6-4 and was trailing 4-1 in the third when the overall match was decided.

No. 17 Lahey and No. 72 Evgeniya Levashova posted straight set wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions, respectively, while Dzina Milovanovic recorded the clinching point with a straight sets victory at No. 5 singles.

Portland concludes the regular season with three road matches over the next two weeks. The Pilots visit Saint Mary's on Friday at noon and then take on Pacific next Saturday at 11 a.m. The regular season finale is at Gonzaga on Saturday, April 21 at 11 a.m.
