ACADEMICS
*Twenty-nine student-athletes completed undergraduate degrees, four of whom graduated with honors. Of those 29 were seven former student-athletes which completed their degrees
*54% of our student-athletes have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher, and our spring semester GPA was 3.10.
*Portland topped the West Coast Conference Fall Academic Team with 12 selections, double the total of any other school. In the Spring, Portland added another seven athletes to the list.

ATHLETICS
CROSS COUNTRY
*The men's cross country team won its 21st straight West Coast Conference championship, and advanced to its fourth NCAA Championships
*The women's team won its ninth WCC title in the last 10 years
*Portland had 14 all-WCC runners - seven each for the men and women
*Joe Driscoll was the WCC men's champion. Kevin Smith was WCC Freshman of the Year.
*Erika Colin was second in the WCC Championships for the women.
*The men finished 26th at the national meet.
VOLLEYBALL
*The women's volleyball team was 2-24, 0-14 in West Coast Conference play (8th place)
*The Pilots beat Oregon and Portland State for their season wins, the fourth win over the Ducks in the series
*K.T. Lamb and Christy Novitsky were WCC All-Academic team members; sophomore Bridget Beschen was the team's Most Valuable Player
MEN'S SOCCER
*After a 3-2 first-round loss in the NCAA playoffs, the team finished 12-5-2, 3-2-1 in WCC play (3rd).
*Freshman forward Conor Casey led the nation in scoring (53 points), earning WCC co-MVP as well as WCC Freshman of the Year.
*Brian Winters was the #33 pick of the Columbus Crew in the 2000 MLS draft and later signed with the A-League Minnesota Thunder
*The Pilots finished 6th in the country in attendance (1,712)
*Casey was the team's MVP and the school's Male Athlete of the Year
WOMEN'S SOCCER
*The women's soccer team saw a string of seven consecutive NCAA berths come to an end with a 12-7-1 overall record (5-2-0 in WCC games for 2nd). Erin Misaki and Susanna Heikari are first-team all-WCC, and seven Pilots earn all-WCC awards
*The Pilots ranked 5th in the country for average home attendance (1,581)
* Misaki was the team's MVP; junior goalie Cheryl Loveless was the school's Female Scholar-Athlete
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
*The women's basketball team was selected to compete in the Women's National Invitational Tournament, but lost at Washington in the first round.
*The team finishes the season 16-13 overall and 7-7 in the WCC (4th), losing to Pepperdine in the conference semifinals
*Portland is the only WCC school which has appeared in every WCC Tournament semifinal game for eight consecutive years
*Sarah Green and Kristin Hepton were named first-team all-WCC, while Shannon MacCormac is honorable mention
*Hepton finished 7th in the country in free throw percentage (87.4%); she finished 3rd all-time on the WCC list at 85%
MEN'S BASKETBALL
*The Pilots finished the season 10-18 overall, 4-10 in WCC play for 6th place
*The Pilots dropped a narrow 56-52 loss to San Diego in the first round of the WCC Tournament
*Sophomore guard Ryan Jones and senior forward Troy Collins were each honorable mention all-West Coast Conference picks
*Freshman Tim Frost's 48 blocks led Portland to a new season record, as the Pilots had 103 blocks
*Collins was selected to participate in the 2000 ESPN Slam Dunk Championship
BASEBALL
*Portland was 24-27 overall and 13-17 in WCC games (3rd West Division, 5th overall)
*Sophomore shortstop Cory Lunde was a unanimous selection to the 2000 all-West Coast Conference baseball team, becoming the first Pilot ever to be listed on the first team
*Lunde was a GTE/CoSIDA third-team Academic All-American and first-team District VIII pick, and the school's Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year
*Brian Graham was 8-4 on the mound, finishing career tied for fourth in wins (19), seven in strikeouts (191), and ninth in innings pitched (218.2).
*Kyle Bebout tied the Portland season record with 33 appearances, and had a 3-2 record with five saves
*The Pilots were champions of the Oakland A's Collegiate Invitational, and started the season 5-0
MEN'S TENNIS
*The Pilot men placed 4th at the WCC Championships, falling to #2 seed San Diego
*The men finished the season 12-14 overall
*George Agapitos earned his second straight WCC All-Academic team award
WOMEN'S TENNIS
*The Pilot women were 7th at the WCC tourney, and finished 7-16 overall
*Courtney Perkins was Portland's first-ever all-WCC player, and finished the year with a 19-4 record
*Perkins was ranked as high as #70 in the nation, the first-ever ranking for a Portland female tennis player; she was also Portland's Female Athlete of the Year
MEN'S GOLF
*The Pilot men finished third at the WCC Championships; Scott Peterson was 11th to lead the Pilots
*Ryan Earl earned his fourth all-WCC award, Ryan Nelson his third
*Earl and Nelson were selected as individuals for the NCAA West Region Tournament; Nelson was the top individual finisher and became Portland's first-ever national championships competitor
WOMEN'S GOLF
*In just their second season of competition, the Pilot women placed 3rd at the WCC Championships
*freshman Megan Radonich finished, with Lisa Schwinden tied for 13th
*Radonich was honorable mention all-WCC, Portland's first all-WCC pick for women's golf
*Radonich and Cecily Quinajon join repeaters Lisa Schwinden and Sarah Walter on the WCC's All-Academic team
*The Pilots won the Boise State Bronco Invitational for the program's first tourney title; Walter won the EWU Tourney individual title, also a first for the Pilots
TRACK & FIELD
*Erika Colin had an NCAA provisional time in the 10,000 meters
*Bryan Bothwell placed 11th at the 2000 NCAA Indoor Track & Field 5,000 meters, missing All-American status by 2.5 seconds
*Bothwell won the Notre Dame Indoor 5,000 in a school record 14:03
*Freshman Nicole Ricci ran 4:35 in the 1,500 and 9:49 in the 3,000, both Portland top-10 marks
*Kevin Smith ran a 14:25 in the 5,000 at the Stanford Invitational
*Ryan Craig ran the team's fastest 10,000 with a 30:17, placing second at the Oregon Invitational
