Game Information
The No. 3 Portland Pilots continue West Coast Conference with a pair of road matches in the Bay Area. The Pilots carry a 12-match winning streak into Friday night’s contest against San Francisco at 5 p.m. Portland will then face Saint Mary’s on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Pilots Briefly
• Portland extended its win streak to 12 with home wins over LMU (3-0) and Pepperdine (2-1) last weekend.
• Senior MF Megan Rapinoe tallied the game-winner in the 89th minute against Pepperdine, following her own PK for a rebound goal. Sophomore Sophie Schmidt scored the first goal for the Pilots, her fifth of the season.
• Freshman F Danielle Foxhoven scored two goals in Friday’s win, giving her a WCC-leading 13 on the season.
• UP will be without U-20 National Team players Michelle Enyeart and Keelin Winters Friday’s match at San Francisco, but will return to the team for the Oct. 26 match at Saint Mary’s.
• Portland has 10 shutouts and has outscored opponents 45-4 this season.
• 13 different Pilots have scored goals this year, while 10 players have at least two goals.
• Portland ranks in the top 10 nationally in every team statistic: No. 4 in GAA (0.28) and win pct. (0.929), No. 5 in shutout pct. (0.714) and scoring (3.21), and No. 8 in save pct. (0.882).
• Portland is No. 3 in the latest NCAA RPI public release, which was announced on October 20.
• Junior GK Kelsey Davis ranks No. 4 nationally in goals-against average (0.284) and has played every minute in goal for the Pilots this season.
• Junior Michelle Enyeart is two assists shy of joining the 30-goal, 30-assist club.
• The Pilots lost redshirt senior Rachael Rapinoe for the season after she tore her ACL in the first half against USC on Sept. 1. It is the second consecutive season that Rapinoe has suffered a season-ending knee injury, but she will continue to travel with the team as a captain.
• Five starters and 14 letterwinners return from 18-4-0 team in 2007.
• Enyeart, Reed and Keelin Winters are expected to be named to the USA Under-20 National Team for the 2008 FIFA World Championships this November-December.
• Enyeart and Reed named to MAC Hermann Preseason Watch List.

Scouting San Francisco
The Dons (5-9-2, 0-3 WCC) remained winless in WCC play with road losses to No. 15 San Diego (1-0) and Santa Clara (3-0) last week. Goalkeeper Kelly Pohle stopped seven shots against the Toreros before finally allowing a 66th minute goal that proved to be the game-winner. USF was outshot 17-1 by San Diego. On Sunday at Santa Clara, the Broncos scored three first half goals en route to victory. Santa Clara outshout USF by a 13-5 margin. The Dons are led in scoring by Nicole Moore with four goals. She is the lone USF player with more than one goal this season. Pohle has been the primary goalkeeper for the Dons and posts a 1.51 goals-against average with 67 saves and two shutouts. Head coach Mark Carr is in his second year with the Dons and posts a 7-22-5 record. Carr returns six starters and nine letterwinners from last year’s team. Portland posted a 6-0 win over the Dons last season in San Francisco and lead the all-time series by a 20-0-1 margin.
Scouting Saint Mary’s
The Gaels (8-5-2, 1-1-1 WCC) played Santa Clara to a 1-1 draw before falling to the No. 15 ranked San Diego Toreros, 2-0, last weekend. In the game versus Santa Clara, the Gaels jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Jessica Menzhuber scored her first goal of the year, but the Broncos equalized early in the second half. SMC goalkeeper Tara Larson collected seven saves in the match. SMC held the Toreros without a goal for 76 minutes, but Jen Mello broke the scoreless tie with her ninth goal of the season 76:49 mark and Amy Epsten added an insurance goal a minute later. Larson recorded nine saves as the Toreros outshot the Gaels 26-5. SMC has played a school record seven overtime matches with a 5-0-2 mark. Head coach Kelley Lindsey is in her third year with the Gaels and posts a 17-29-8 record. UP leads the all-time series by a 19-5 margin, including a 1-0 win in Moraga, Calif. last year.
