PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Pilots Women's Soccer had five players earn Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators on Tuesday, with Violet Rademacher, Sophia Hills, Kyah Zurek, Aliyah Dockter and Ruby Settle all making the team. It's the first time all Pilots have made the team except for Rademacher and Dockter.
To qualify for the team, a student-athlete most play in 90% of a team's contests or start in 66% of games and hold a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Only individuals with at least sophomore academic and athletic standing qualify as well.
Rademacher earns All-District honors for the second season in a row after a stellar year on the pitch and off it. Rademacher anchored a stellar Portland defense while scoring a team-high seven goals and adding an assist. The Pilots conceded .632 goals per game and 10 shutouts for a .526 shutout percentage, ranking second in the conference in both categories. They were 13
th nationally in goals-against average and 22
nd in shutout percentage. Rademacher was an All-WCC First Team selection and a WCC All-Academic Team pick as well.
Hills was also crucial in that stalwart defense for Portland, starting all 19 games for the Pilots between the pipes. Hills posted a .595 goals-against average herself and a .833 save percentage, ranking first and second in the WCC respectively in those two categories and 13
th and 30
th nationally. She was 13
th in the nation as well in shutouts at 10 clean sheets. Hills earned All-WCC Second Team honors this year as well as WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention.
Zurek makes the team for the first time in her career after earning WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention. Zurek played in 18 matches for Portland this year along with nine starts, operating on the wing.
Dockter played and started all 19 contests for the Pilots. Dockter scored two goals on the year, with both of those goals being game winners. Dockter was a linchpin in the midfield and earned All-WCC Honorable Mention for her play while also earning WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention for the second time in her career.

The Pilots put together one of their best years in recent history in conference play, finishing with a 7-1-3 record against WCC opponents to finish tied for second in the league. Their second-place finish was the highest for the program since 2013 while their seven wins were their highest since that same year. Portland finished 10-3-6 overall for their third 10-plus win season in four years and their best winning percentage (.682) since that 2013 season as well.
