PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Pilots Women's Soccer Announced on Thursday their schedule for the 2026 fall season. The slate features a plethora of NCAA Tournament squads and introduces the brand new WCC Tournament to close out the season.
Portland will play the Oregon Ducks on Wednesday, Aug. 5 in an exhibition before heading up to Seattle to play the Washington Huskies on Aug. 12, beginning a six-game road stretch. The Huskies went 15-3-7 overall and 8-1-2 in Big Ten play, winning the Big Ten tournament and advancing to the Elite Eight of the 2026 NCAA Tournament. The Pilots and Huskies last played in 2022, playing to a 1-1 draw.
The Pilots stay on the road with a trip to Utah where they'll play the Utah State Aggies on Aug. 20 and the Utah Tech Trailblazers on Aug. 23. Utah State has been a tournament team the last two seasons, finishing last year at 10-6-7 overall and 5-2-3 in Mountain West play on their way to a Mountain West Tournament championship victory. The Pilots beat the Aggies last season 2-1 at Merlo Field. Utah Tech, meanwhile, was 8-7-5 overall and 4-4-2 in the WAC.
An ACC opponent awaits right after, with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Aug. 29. The Demon Deacons were 11-5-4 overall and 4-3-3 in ACC play, advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. After that, two California opponents in Long Beach State and Cal State Fullerton on Sept. 3 and Sept. 6 respectively. Portland played both teams at home last season, collecting a 2-1 win over the Beach and falling 1-0 to the Titans. The Beach were 5-8-5 overall and 2-4-4 in Big West play while the Titans ran through the Big West with a 14-3-3 record and a 6-2-2 conference record, ultimately falling to Cal Poly in the Big West Championship.
The Pilots return to Merlo Field after to take on two in-state opponents in the Portland State Vikings and the Oregon State Beavers. PSU went 4-9-4 last year and 3-3-2 in Big Sky play, tying the Pilots in their contest last year. Oregon State, who leaves the WCC to rejoin the Pac-12 this season, was 2-12-5 overall 1-9-1 in the conference, losing to the Pilots 1-0. Portland plays the Vikings on Sept. 10 and the Beavers on Sept. 13.
Portland hosts another Big West school in the UC Davis Aggies – who finished 3-12-4 overall and 1-8-1 in conference – on Sept. 17 before opening WCC play against the Pepperdine Waves on Sept. 26. The Waves are the reigning WCC Champs, going 11-7-2 overall and 8-2-1 in WCC play to qualify for the NCAA Tournament. The Pilots beat the Waves 1-0 in Malibu last season for their first road win over Pepperdine since 2013.
The Pilots then welcome the Pacific Tigers to end their five-game homestand on Oct. 2. The Pilots beat the Tigers last season on the road, taking down a squad that went 4-9-6 overall and 1-6-4 in WCC play. Portland hits the road soon after to take on the San Francisco Dons on Oct. 7, a team that finished ninth in the WCC last season after going 3-11-4 overall and 2-7-2 in WCC play. Portland beat the Dons 1-0.
Portland returns home to take on a fierce opponent in the Saint Mary's Gaels on Oct. 10. Portland then takes on a new conference opponent in the Denver Pioneers on the road on Oct. 17. Denver went 9-5-4 overall and finished tied for first in the Summit League at 6-1-1.
The Pilots play the San Diego Toreros after that on Oct. 24 in San Diego, a team that went 4-7-7 last year and 1-7-3 against WCC opponents. Portland returns home after that for their final two home bouts against the Seattle U Redhawks and the LMU Lions on Oct. 28 and Nov. 1 respectively. The Redhawks finished fourth in the conference at 10-3-6 overall and 6-3-2 in their first year back in the WCC while the Lions went 5-7-5 overall and 2-5-4 in WCC play. Portland tied the Redhawks 2-2 on the road and beat the Lions 2-1 in Los Angeles.
The regular season closes with a matchup against the Santa Clara Broncos on Nov. 7 down in Santa Clara. The Broncos finished sixth in the conference at 8-6-5 overall and 4-2-5 in WCC play, with the Pilots playing the Broncos to a 1-1 draw.
