University of Portland soccer stars Michelle Enyeart and Sophie Schmidt were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-America First Team, while teammates Kelsey Davis and Danielle Foxhoven earned second team honors. The four Portland honorees tied Stanford for the most of any team, while the Pilots were one of only three schools to have two first team honorees.

Enyeart scored 13 goals with 12 assists before going down with a season-ending knee injury in the final regular season game. She finished her career as the No. 4 scorer in school history and was one of only three players in school history with more than 40 goals and 40 assists in her career.

Schmidt scored 12 goals with 12 assists in 2009. A member of the Canadian National Team, she played both the forward and midfield positions this season and recorded her first career hat trick with four goals against Columbia.

Davis will graduate this December as one of the top goalkeepers in UP history. She finished 2009 by surrendering just nine goals for a 0.50 goals-against average, which ranked eighth nationally. Davis capped her career No. 2 on the school charts in goals-against average (0.47) and third in shutouts (34).

Foxhoven led the nation in points per game (2.82) and was second in goals per game (1.14). Her 25 goals tied for fifth in UP single-season history, while her 64 total points tied for fourth all-time. She also became just the fourth player in school history with three or more hat tricks in the same season.

Redshirt junior Kendra Chandhoke joined the four All-Americans on the NSCAA All-West Region First Team to comprise five of the 11 regional honorees.

The NSCAA All-America selections will be recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon, held in Philadelphia, Pa., on Jan. 16 as part of the 2010 NSCAA Convention.
