Game Information
The Portland Pilots will look for a road sweep when they travel to Saint Mary’s on Saturday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live on Comcast SportsNet Northwest. Tune in on the radio 30 minutes prior to tip-off on 95.5 The Game FM (KXTG) with a free audio simulcast at www.portlandpilots.com. The Pilots (10-6, 1-1 WCC) earned a 63-54 win at San Diego on Thursday, while Saint Mary’s (15-3, 2-1) dropped an 89-82 decision to No. 14 Gonzaga.

*UP improved to 2-3 in road games with a 63-54 win at San Diego on Thursday

About Saint Mary’s
The Gaels (15-3, 2-1 WCC) dropped an 89-82 decision at home to No. 14 Gonzaga on Thursday. Senior C Omar Samhan led the way for Saint Mary’s with 31 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman G Matthew Dellavedova added 23 points and seven assists, but Gonzaga shot 59 percent from the field and gained a 45-27 edge on the boards to pull out the win. Previously, SMC defeated Santa Clara (80-72) and San Francisco (83-62) on the road to open WCC play. The Gaels other losses this year came versus Vanderbilt (72-70) and USC (60-49). Key wins came against San Diego State (80-58), at Oregon (81-76) and at Utah State (68-63). Samhan has been a load all year long and averages 21.3 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. Dellavedova adds 13.9 points, while junior PG Mickey McConnell contributes 12.8 points and 6.2 assists. SMC also is among the national leaders in three-point percentage (.410) and shoots 49.4 percent from the field. Head coach Randy Bennett is in his ninth year with the Gaels and has led SMC to two NCAA Tournament bids. Last year the Gaels advanced to the NIT quarterfinals and finished 28-7.
