SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- Senior Danielle Foxhoven and sophomore Micaela Capelle were both selected to the 2011 West Coast Conference Women’s Soccer All-Academic Team, while 11 Pilots total were honored. This is the third straight selection to the league’s all-academic team for Foxhoven.
Portland easily had more players honored than any other team in the conference.
Foxhoven, a marketing & management major with a 3.41 GPA, also landed on the Academic All-Region Second Team. This is the first conference academic honor for Capelle, who boasts a 3.41 GPA and is working towards a business degree.
Earning WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention for the Pilots are seniors Hailee DeYoung, Halley Kreminski, Emma Nelson and Michelle Olivier, junior Taylor Brooke and sophomores Sarah Bridges, Cloee Colohan, Michelle Cruz and Ellen Parker.
Brooke, a business major with a 3.91 GPA, was also selected to the Academic All-Region First Team and is eligible to received Academic All-American honors.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.
