Pilots Strong at Mt Sac Relays and Oregon Relays

WALNUT, Calif. --- Jared Bassett and Laura Hottenrott-Freitag set new personal records in the 3000 meter steeplechase, finishing third and fourth on the men’s and women’s side, respectively. The duo’s performances highlighted the Pilots stay at the 2012 Mt Sac Relays over the weekend.
 
Portland also got strong showings in the 10,000 meter runs. David Perry (29:09.31) and Scott Fauble (29:11.96) placed sixth and seventh in the Elite Invitational section, while Charlie McDonald also grabbed a sixth place finish with a time of 29.53.02 in the open event.
 
Kellie Houser (35:16.75) and Rosalind Smith (36:01.00) participated in the 10,000 meter Olympic Development Elite section, setting new team bests for the event. Ruth Croft ran in the 10,000 meter open, clocking a time of 37:03.82

EUGENE, Ore. --- Kiyah Williams posted two top-three finishes in the 400m hurdles and then as part of the 4x100m relays while Mark Roetcisoender (100m) and Jacob Lampe and Matt Winterer (High Jump) also posted top-three results to lead the Pilots at the Oregon Relays.
 
Williams continued her solid season with the Pilots, clocking a 1:02.85 in the 400m hurdles and then ran the first leg of the 4x100m relay. Williams teamed with Jaime Rompel, Kelsey Bestall, and Melissa Baller for a time of 50.07 to place third in the race.
 
On the men’s side, Roetcisoender posted his third best mark in the 100m event this season, finishing in second place with a time of 11.12. Lampe and Winterer tied for third in the high jump with marks of 1.96m, a season best for Winterer.
