SPRINGFIELD, Ore--- Placing five runners in the first 31 spots at yesterday's Bill Dellinger Invitational helped guarantee the Pilot men a third-place overall finish. The women enjoyed a fourth-place finish among some of the region's, and nation's, best competition.

Redshirt junior Chris Borg paced the Pilot men with a 12
th place finish and a time of 24:36. Close behind Borg was senior Cody Wells (15
th, 24:41), redshirt freshman Alex Dillard (16
th, 24:42), redshirt freshman Danny Martinez (19
th, 24:46), and Timo Goehler (25
th, 24:49) finished up the scoring for the Pilots.

The Pilots held out their top-five runners for this race and they were still able to manage to tie regional powerhouse Washington at 87 points for third-place. The Oregon men took home the team title with 32 points.

For the women, it was sophomore Laura Hottenrott with an impressive eighth-place overall finish to lead the Pilots. Not far behind was Gina Paletta (13
th, 17:25), sophomore Anne Luijten (15
th, 17:35), senior Marit Tegelaar (19
th, 17:39), and, to finish up the scoring for the Pilots, senior Natasha Verma (28
th, 17:54).

Oregon and Washington, currently ranked fifth and seventh nationally, claimed the first and second spots in yesterday's women race.
