• The Chipotle 3-Point Contest is back this year for both men's and women's basketball home games. If the Pilots make six or more three-pointers in the game, all fans will get a 2-for-1 burrito coupon to Chipotle!
GAME COVERAGE
• All non-televised Portland home games will have a free four-camera video production with graphics and instant replay available at www.PilotsVideo.com.
• Sports 910 AM (KMTT) is the new home of University of Portland Basketball. All Pilot games will be aired live on 910 AM with a 30-minute pregame show and a complete postgame show with player and coach interviews.
• Veteran play-by-play broadcaster Bill Johnson will return to the sidelines once again this season. The audio simulcast and live game statistics will also be available on PortlandPilots.com.
ABOUT THE PILOTS
• Portland won its lone exhibition game on Saturday, Oct. 26 over NAIA power Concordia-Irvine by a 92-77 margin.
• Junior G Kevin Bailey scored a team-high 19 points, while sophomore G Bryce Pressley added 13 points and 10 rebounds.
• All four Pilot newcomers saw court action, with freshman PG Alec Wintering finishing with 15 points. Junior G Bobby Sharp hit two three-pointers for six points in his debut. Junior F Volodymyr Gerun added four points and five rebounds, while freshman G Aitor Zubizarretta chipped in two points and two rebounds.
• Portland returns all five starters and nine lettermen from last year's team that finished 11-21 overall.
• Senior F Ryan Nicholas has led the team in scoring and rebounding each of the last two seasons and was the No. 2 rebounder in the WCC last year (8.7).
• Bailey was second on the team in scoring at 11.4 points per game last season.
• Junior C Thomas van der Mars has started 58 games already for the Pilots and will join a deep frontline along with RS-Jr. C Riley Barker, West Virginia transfer F Volodymyr Gerun and senior F John Bailey.
• G Tanner Riley and G Korey Thieleke join Nicholas and John Bailey as Portland's four seniors.
• Head coach Eric Reveno returns for his eighth year on The Bluff. Assistant coaches Eric Jackson and Mike Wolf also return for their eighth year, while Colin Pfaff returns for his second year as an assistant coach after two years as Director of Basketball Operations.
• Portland looks to return to the form it had from 2008-2011, a stretch that included back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time in school history and 60 wins over three seasons.
• The Pilots were invited to the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT) for three consecutive seasons from 2008-2011.
• The Pilots were picked to finish ninth in the 10-team West Coast Conference in the pre-season coaches poll.
ABOUT UC DAVIS
• The Aggies won their exhibition game against Menlo College by an 81-53 margin.
• Five UC Davis players scored in double figures in the victory, while Josh Ritchart finished with a double-double of 12 points, 10 rebounds and six blocked shots.
• Junior G Corey Hawkins is one of the top players in the nation after averaging 20.3 points per game last year. Hawkins, a transfer from Arizona State, has received preseason All-America accolades from various news outlets.
• Senior G Ryan Sypkens is one of the top three-point shooters in the nation converting 106 threes last year and shooting 46.1 percent from beyond the arc.
• Jim Les is in his third season as head coach with the Aggies.
• Les and Aggies were picked to finish fifth in the Big West Conference Preseason Media Poll.
