Pilot Men, Women Open Cross Country Season With a Bang at Viking Invite

PORTLAND, Ore--- Redshirt freshman Alex Dillard piloted the men's cross country team to an overall victory at Friday's PSU Viking Invitational at Blue Lake Park.

The Pilot men were racing against fellow Division I opponents in the Oregon Ducks and the Portland State Vikings.

Dillard and the Pilots put six of their runners in front of Oregon's five. Behind Dillard, the Pilots had redshirt freshman Alex Bowns, redshirt junior Chris Borg, redshirt junior Stephen Kersh, and redshirt freshman Griffin Hay to round out their top five.

On the women's side, Oregon's Megan Patrignelli won the three-mile race in a time of 16:08.49. Oregon State's women would be the overall victor, though.



Portland freshman Anna Farello was the top harrier for the women's side with a time of 16:40.17.

Next up for both Pilot distance groups will be the BYU Invitational in Provo, UT on September 14th.
