Adin Brown Talks about Hanna de Haan (video)
PORTLAND, Ore. --- Hanna de Haan, a 5-9 goalkeeper from Leers, Germany, has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Portland Pilots women's soccer roster in the fall, announced head coach Garrett Smith. De Haan comes to UP as sophomore.
Â
"She's played in Germany and she's played in the Netherlands so she has some experience underneath her," said Portland assistant coach Adin Brown. "That experience and her technique will allow her to bring a little bit of character not only to the goalkeeping position but to the entire roster."
Â
De Haan spent the past year with Werder Bremen, who finished in third place in the 2nd Bundesliga Nord. She also spent time with clubs PEC Zwolle (2013) in Norway and SV Meppen (2011-13) in Germany. The keeper played for the NFV District team for three years and also played for the NFV U-19's in the State Association DFB.
Â
De Haan joins previous recruits Madeline Dieker, Hannah Griffiths Boston, Jess Kennedy, Taylor Luty, Maddie Seckman and Kaycie Young to complete the 2014 class.
