SPOKANE, Wash. – Portland men's tennis finished 10-3 in singles and had two doubles teams advance to the quarterfinals on the opening day of the Bulldog Classic on Friday. All four Pilots won their opening round matches in the top flight Blue Singles Draw and will join Michail Pervolarakis in the Round of 16.

Portland's young roster pulled out four three-set singles victories, including freshmen Felix Fan and Carlos Donat in the top draw. Mathieu Garcia and Pierre Garcia also won their first round matches in straight sets.

In the Red Draw, Portland again won all three opening round matches as juniors Ethan Ogard and Alex Wallace, as well as senior Kent Andreasen secured straight set wins. Wallace then pulled out a three-setter in the Round of 16 and will be joined in the quarterfinals by sophomores Jamie Fisher and Goutham Sundaram.

In doubles action, Portland's four tandems advanced out of the first round. The duos of Pervolarakis and Fan, as well as Wallace and Donat advanced to the quarterfinals.

Bulldog action continues on Saturday and will conclude on Sunday.
