LAST WEEK • The Pilots went on the road to defeat the Denver Pioneers 2-1 in overtime last Saturday in Portland's final non-conference match of the season.
• After the Pioneers scored on somewhat of a fluke goal in the first half, Cecilia Pedersen equalized three minutes into the second half and Maddie Dieker scored the game-winner in the 100th minute.
• Dieker also assisted on the Pedersen goal, playing a well-timed through ball to the freshman forward
• Dieker's game-winner was set up perfectly by Allison Wetherington and Devlyn Jeter, who sent in a low, hard pass from left of the 18 to an unmarked Dieker in the center of the box.

• Portland has won two straight games for the first time this fall.
• On Sunday, Sept. 20, the Pilots blanked previously unbeaten Washington State 2-0 for Portland's first shutout this season.
• Portland has been alternating junior Hanna de Haan and freshman Rachel Lusby in goal; de Haan registered UP's only blank sheet this year, making five saves during a 2-0 win over Washington State.
• So far this season, sophomore Jess Kennedy has played forward, midfielder and outside back.
• Sophomore midfielder Kaycie Young has yet to play this year and is still working her way back from an injury suffered last season.
• Freshman Sarah Jones has started every game at holding midfielder and is second on the team in minutes played.

• The Pilots lead the WCC with 15 assists; junior defender Ellie Boon and junior midfielder Allison both have three assists to lead the team.
• Allison Wetherington was voted to the 2015 Preseason All-West Coast Conference Team for the second straight year.
• Wetherington, who landed on the 2014 All-WCC First Team, was second on the team last year with eight points, which came on two goals and a team-best four assists.
• Also earning all-league honors in 2014 were seniors Haylee DeGrood and Noelle La Prevotte and juniors Ellie Boon and Hanna de Haan, who each nabbed All-WCC Honorable Mention accolades.
• La Prevotte has earned all-conference recognition all three years on The Bluff and she's tied for the team high with three goals this fall.
• Portland's junior class was ranked fifth in the nation entering UP as freshmen in 2013.
• The Pilots were selected to finish fifth in the WCC Preseason Coaches' Poll.

CELEBRATING THE 2005 NATTY• 2015 marks the 10-year anniversary of Portland's historic run to the 2005 NCAA National Championship and the Pilots will be celebrating that title this season.
• Then-senior Christine Sinclair and then-freshman Megan Rapinoe, along with a loaded and talented roster, capped an undefeated season (23-0-2) in 2005 with a 4-0 drubbing of UCLA in the title game.
• It was Portland's second national title in four years and Sinclair claimed her second consecutive MAC Hermann Trophy, which is awarded to the national player of the year.
• Portland will bring that '05 team back to The Bluff during the weekend of Oct. 17-18 and they will be honored during the Pilots' game against Santa Clara; a banquet, which is open to the public will also be held that weekend, and for more information or to purchase tickets please visit PortlandPilots.com/2005_Celebration.
