Sept. 4, 2015Helloooooo everyone!
I want to begin by apologizing for not delivering on the promised vlog. I fully intended on having a vlog this week, but with our first road trip under our belts, and the first week of school beginning, it was a bit difficult to coordinate with everyone's busy, hectic weeks, as everyone is still adjusting to their schedules. Here is proof that, despite our crazy schedules, Big Al and I showed our undying dedication to the vlog and really tried to get Case

to get down with the film time that we wanted.
As you can see, we made a huge effort to get a time nailed down, but we get it Case

, life happens, man. I hope that this sneak peak of the first vlog guests will tide everyone over. Also, I hope you can tell by the title of our group message that Rachel will not be included in this episode – maybe next time Rach!
Anyway, last weekend during our Marquette/Notre Dame trip, our team was graced by something truly special – our own theme song. It features a line about every player on our team except Rachel (I'm sorry Rachel; this blog post seems to focus heavily on the exclusion of you, regardless of the activity. Perhaps I'll give you a solo vlog special. Maybe. We will see). The song also includes fun facts about some of us, but most importantly it has sick beatz. You know it's a good song when Riz can dance to it (or maybe you don't know this because Riz can dance to anything and have it look good). Regardless, I, for one, am fully behind any song that features the lyrics "Pilots grindin' ayyyyyye."
You can listen to the team's new favorite song here:
https://t.co/ljhTdEtYDA?ssr=true Since we are on the topic of good music, I want to talk a little about our pump-up mix. For our song that we run out to, we have this Irish-dance remix thing which, in my opinion, is not as good as running out to the Star Wars theme song or the Law and Order SVU opening song, however I do love it a lot and it is perfect because Parkes used to actually Irish dance. So if you get to games a little early, you might be lucky enough to see Parkes in Irish dance action.
For our pump-up mix, we all get to choose one song that will get us amped to play. These aren't necessarily our favorite songs because not everyone's favorite song gets them super amped. So, I want to leave you all with the 2015 Pilots Women's Soccer Favorite Songs of All Time playlist:
Alyssa: "Drops of Jupiter" by Train
DJ: "Pretty Wings" by Maxwell
Taylor: "Hollaback Girl" by Gwen Stefani
Parkes: "Hey Julie" by the Fountains of Wayne
Rachel: "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey
Cecilia: "Pusher Love Girl" by Justin Timberlake
Jess: "American Boy" by Estelle ft. KANYE WEST
Sarah: "She Will Be Loved" by Maroon 5
Haylee: Any older country song???.this could go a lot of ways…
Ariel: "Like a Prayer" by Madonna
Ariel #2 (to make up for Haylee's lack of song): "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston
Noelle: "Happiness" by The Fray
Kaycie: "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen
Allison: "In Your Arms" by Nico & Vinz
Hanna De Hann: "Clouds" by Patrice
Hanna Armendariz: "The Way" by Kehlani
Ellie: "Cowboy Take Me Away" by The Dixie Chicks
Dieker: "679" by Fetty Wap
Hannah: "Everything I Am" by KANYE WEST
Lauren (Lemon): "Lose Yourself" by Eminem. Lauren wanted me to be sure to mention that her alter ego is Leminem ("or Lemonem, whichever looks better")
I also got special input from Gergs, our beloved athletic trainer. His song of choice is "Otherside" by Red Hot Chili Peppers, but he was quick to note that his go to karaoke song is "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey. I cannot wait for the day I get to experience Karaoke with Gergs.
Anyway, this weekend we play Michigan and Illinois in the Husky Invitational and are hoping to continue our season with two strong performances. Be sure to follow along, and we will see you all at home next weekend for the Nike Portland Invitational.
Deuces,
HGB
