PORTLAND, Ore. – The University of Portland honored its student-athletes for their academic excellence at the Annual Academic Awards Excellence Banquet held on Sunday night at the Bauccio Commons on the UP campus.
The night was used to honor Portland's student-athletes for their accomplishments in the classroom during the 2015-16 school year, and teams were recognized for combining for the highest GPA's.
Thirteen student-athletes earned 4.00 GPAs in the 2015 fall semester, and eighteen earned a 4.00 GPA in the spring of 2016. The women's tennis team had the highest team semester GPA in the fall (3.64), while the women's cross country team achieved the highest GPA in the spring (3.68).
Below are the 4.00 GPA honorees as well as the student-athletes with the top GPA from each of the University's 4 professional schools and the College of Arts & Science.
